Construction Trades - Plumbing
This qualification is for learners wanting to learn the basic skills and knowledge involved in plumbing. The course is designed to train learners from a starting point of little or no knowledge or experience of Plumbing. You will be introduced to the many tools used in the process of plumbing and also the various materials used in the development of plumbing systems. You will learn the history of plumbing and types of systems used and then how we integrate modern materials and processes into existing systems or how we develop a whole new system from nothing.
Study at Level:
Level 2
How to cut and join many different materials, bend tube/pipework to fit different situations. How to join materials to ensure they do not leak, The legislation around fitting and repairing plumbing systems. The safe use of tools and understanding the building workplace and the health and safety requirements to ensure that no-one is hurt.
Level 2 entry – To be eligible for this course you would need to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs grade 2/3 (D/E) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics.
At level 2 and above you are required to complete a work placement. This will be an external work placement within your industry of study.
Relevant trips may be offered throughout the duration of your course.
Progression into the trade of Plumbing, gaining an apprenticeship placement that would allow the completion of a plumbing standard and lead to accredited status within the industry.
